December 11, 2015 -- 2015 World Series Results and Final Standings

Damn Yankees -- Pirates World Series Dreams Have the Rug Yanked From Under Them as Yankees Sweep Games 3 through 6

After falling behind 2 games to 0 the Yankees stormed back to take four in a row to win the 2015 World Series, 4 games to 2. Danny Santana, with an approximate .380 batting average, was named series MVP.

But the trainers may have been the most important team members, as injuries abounded. The conclusion of the clinching game 6, in fact, found the Pirates forced to bat Giants retread Brian McCann with two outs in the ninth--with predictable results--as Wilson Ramos fell to injury earlier in the contest and was unavailable in the clutch situation.

The result, though stinging to the Pirates, cannot erase the Pirates' fine 2015 campaign, a 52-win effort which nearly saw them go colors-to-colors for the season.

Congratulations to both World Series competitors, and now on to 2016!
