Those are the standings after another fabulous Redwood SOM Draft Weekend! This season we will be adding the 42nd name to the Chico Escuela hardware.

First, our 2023 champion Yankees presented Chico to our 2024 World Champion, the Pirates; Chico will now take up residence in an honored spot at Pirates headquarters.

For. One. Year.

Here's the 2025 Big Board:

And now the 2025 season is under way! First out of the gate are the Giants, who claim Bodega Curse colors with a record of 13-7; the Reds, Athletics and Cardinals are hot on their heels. But it's a long season, and it's going be a horse race for sure. Anything can happen!

Great time, as always!

January 23, 2025—World Series Special

Aaarrrrrggggghh!!

Pirates take an extraordinarily close World Series in seven games

The Pirates got 'er done! Eighth time on the Chico Escuela Trophy for the Cubs/Pirates franchise, tying that franchise for the top spot. But ... never easy!

It went seven games, and then some: Game 7 ended in the bottom of the eleventh inning as a ground ball found its way through a drawn-in Red Sox infield. It was a great series and the Pirates and Red Sox both acquitted themselves very, very well!

And soon we will learn what 2025 holds.
