Standings -- October 30, 2009

At long last here are the updated standings! Mets get the colors back; it's going to be a barn burner as we sprint for the finish line.

Speaking of barn burners, we were reminiscing about big time wrestling the other night, so here's a little Haystack Calhoun for you:

And speaking of finish:

Standings -- October 21, 2009

[UPDATED October 26 with some interim results]

It's nip and tuck to see who survives into the post-season. Lots of remaining games will be tensioned filled.

Meanwhile, the trades have started to fly. So far:

1. The Reds get Nick Swisher and the Pirates' third round pick in exchange for Scott Downs and the Reds' fifth round pick.

2. The Mets get Michael Young and the Reds' fourth round pick in exchange for the Met's third round pick and a "player to be named later." Plus the Mets release Khalil Greene.

So the Reds part with Michael Young and Scott Downs plus their fourth and fifth round picks and end up with Nick Swisher, the Pirates' and Mets' picks in the third round, and a "player to be named later."

I dunno about the PTBNL stuff. Reminds me of someone...
